Monthly Fire Alarm Testing
Our monthly fire test 🧯will be taking place on Wednesday October 11th at 10am. You will hear the fire alarm going off while they are in the building as the system will be on test.
*If you hear the fire alarm going off consistently at any time, it is imperative that you leave the building.
Maintenance Requests
All maintenance requests are now submitted through your Entrata Resident portal. If have yet to register, please email us as soon as possible. This would includes things such as your Grata lock informing you that your battery is low, your thermostat battery is low or anything else you need us to have a look at and fix/replace.
Garbage Room
The garbage room is located on the main floor by the North elevator - in the hallway of the 100 level units. Please ensure you take your garbage down to the garbage room daily. ♻️ You'll notice we have Green bins, recycling bins and garbage bins. The Green Bins are not for your garbage. If you are unfamiliar with what goes where, you can download the Guelph waste app in the App Store or Google Play.
Kitchen
Please remember that the kitchen is a shared space and the fridges and freezer in the community kitchen are shared amongst all residents. Please be respectful of the space by using the shared fridges and freezer for items that do not fit your mini fridge. Reminder, all cooking supplies including pots and pans, are to be stored in your units.
BBQs
The BBQs are for the ALMA community and we ask that you clean them after each use. The red valve behind each BBQ is used to turn the gas line on and off. Please do remember to turn the gas line off when you are done using the BBQ. If you are unsure how to work the BBQ, please feel free to pop by the office and we can show you.
Bike Room
Bike racks have now been installed in the bike room 🚲 and are accessible using your fob. The bike shelter will be built this fall.
TVs in the Common Spaces
All TVs have subscriptions to Disney, Netflix, Crave, Sportsnet and TSN. Accessing these is simple and easy - just search for the appropriate app and enjoy. If for some reason it is not working on a specific TV, email us and we will get that added.

Paint the Cannon
Painting the Cannon is a UofG tradition and something that all UofG students should do before they graduate. A number of ALMA residents are interested in painting the cannon and if would like to join them, please register as soon as possible and more information will be shared

Movie and make your own pizza
Wednesday, October 18th 7pm
Join us for pizza and movie night. At 7pm, you will have the opportunity to make your own 🍕 with other ALMA residents in the kitchen. This will be followed by a movie on a projector in the dining hall. 🍿
Poker Night
Wednesday, October 25th 7pm
How well can you bluff a poker hand? Join other ALMA residents in the dining hall for poker ♠️♦️ - this is a free event with winners receiving ALMA swag.
Trick or Treat
Monday, October 30th 8pm
Who is excited for Halloween? On the eve of Halloween, show off your costume to other ALMA residents at 8pm in the front lobby of the atrium. Let us take a picture of your costume and help yourself to some Halloween candy. Those that dress up and get their picture taken, will have a chance to win a $25 dollar gift card and an ALMA hoodie.
