Building Updates
Monthly Fire Alarm Testing
Our monthly fire test 🧯will be taking place on Wednesday, December 13th, at 10am. You will hear the fire alarm going off while they are in the building as the system will be on test.
*If you hear the fire alarm going off consistently at any time, it is imperative that you leave the building.
Maintenance Requests
Submit all maintenance requests through your Entrata Resident portal. This would include things such as your Grata lock informing you that your battery is low, your thermostat battery is low or anything else you need us to have a look at and fix/replace. Please do not use your Grata app.
Garbage Room
Please ensure you take your garbage down to the garbage room daily and please make sure you put your garbage in the bins. ♻️ You'll notice we have Green bins, recycling bins and garbage bins. The Green Bins are not for your garbage. If you are unfamiliar with what goes where, you can download the Guelph waste app in the App Store or Google Play.
Kitchen
Please remember that the kitchen is a shared space and the fridges and freezer in the community kitchen are shared amongst all residents. Please be respectful of the space by using the shared fridges and freezer for items that do not fit your mini fridge. We've also noticed many of you leaving food, spices and other kitchen items in the drawers - please do not leave any items in the kitchen, this includes inside the drawers.
Heading home for the Holidays?
If you are headed home after your exams, please ensure you leave the heat on in your room and please set it to 67 degrees.
Bike Shelter
The Bike Shelter is being built the first week of December.
TVs in the Common Spaces
All TVs have subscriptions to Disney, Netflix, Crave, Sportsnet and TSN. Accessing these is simple and easy - just search for the appropriate app and enjoy. If for some reason it is not working on a specific TV, email us and we will get that added.

Upcoming Events
Holiday Tree Decorating
Each resident will receive a wooden ornament on December 2nd. Decorate your ornament by letting the ALMA community know what you celebrate during the holiday season. Please hang your ornament on our tree located at the front of the atrium by December 8th.
Hot Apple Cider and Donuts
Sunday, December 10th from 2 to 4pm.
Half way through your exams calls for a study break. Enjoy some hot apple cider and donuts in the kitchen.
Gingerbread House
Monday, December 18th at 7pm
Exams are done! It is time to kick back, relax and join some holiday fun. Gingerbread competition in the dining hall with the winner receiving a gift card to a local restaurant. All you have to do is show up, we will provide the gingerbread kits.
